There are approximately 500 bird species found here and it is possible to walk in unique rain forest at estimated 1900 meters a.s.l. ancient and pristine. An enormous view of the Blyde dam, an ancient site, and the confluence of the Klaserie and Olifants Rivers, presents from the top of Mariepskop.
