You’ll find Blyde Adventure Camp at the foot of the Northern Drakensberg, next to the Lower Blyde River, close to a little town called Hoedspruit.

We’re close to the Kruger National Park’s Orpen Gate and the Blyde River Canyon.  So basically we’re surrounded by some of the most beautiful landscapes in our country. The camp is set on a 14 hectare fenced property with indigenous forests.  You’ll find all sorts of little wild animals in and around our camp.

We include the following in the price per person per night:

  • Dinner on the day of arrival, three meals on following days and breakfast on the day of departure.
  • A guide to facilitate our program or help run yours.
  • All bedding for the guests in the chalets and a fitted sheet for the guests in the dorms
  • Cutlery and crockery.
  • Free activities
  • Please be aware that site visits are by appointment only. Contact our office on 079 388 2196 to make arrangements.

We have space for everyone!

We sleep 288 guests in dorms and 14 guests in chalets. That means we have space for 300 guests in total. If you make a booking we allocate one of three camps for your group or all of them depending on group size. That’s why we require a minimum amount of 15 guests per group. Arrangements can be made for smaller groups so don’t be shy to contact us.

There are three separate camps on our property; each with its own dorms, chalet and lapa. The lapas can be used for meals as well as lectures or conferencing.

Two of our three camps have en-suite dorms. The other camp has separate wheelchair friendly ablutions.

Other facilities you’ll find here: tuck shop, volleyball courts, large lawns that can be used for all sorts of games and activities, indigenous riverine forests for guided nature walks. Swimming spots in the Lower Blyde River for supervised swimming and other water based activities such as tubing, river crossing and our famous super slide. Open fields on the farm that we use for night activities such as star gazing, stalk the lantern and then lastly our bush camp set inside the fenced off area of the camp where kids have the option of a sleep-out in the bush.

Just a note on swimming. We do not have swimming pools – we swim in the pristine pools of the Lower Blyde River under supervision of river guides. A wonderful experience for people from all walks of life. Guests who can’t swim will receive life jackets.

Here at Blyde Adventure Camp we help you with all the arrangements for your group.

Our office will help you select the suitable activities for your group based on age, numbers and budget. We don’t just do this for children – we work out awesome programs for adults too.

We then set up a program with the activities that you have selected and then make all the bookings and arrangements for you. The only item that we do not organize is your group’s transport. You do need your own transport for the field trip activities.
