Tanamera is a small exclusive lodge offering romantic, luxurious chalet accommodation with spectacular views on a dinner, bed & breakfast basis amongst breath-taking scenery and quiet surroundings. Relax and revitalize, celebrating special moments deep in the Lowveld forest overlooking the Sabie River Valley in Mpumalanga, South Africa. A serene and welcoming escape for honeymooners, our guests dine under the stars, in the lodge or privately in a beautifully appointed chalet for two. From here explore the Kruger National Park, Hazyview, Sabie, the Panorama Route and the Blyde River Canyon.
Dining @ Tanamera
Tanamera Lodge caters for evening meals and serves a continental and Full English breakfast. We select meat from our local butcheries and fresh fish which is largely from the shores of Mozambique. We source seasonal fruits and vegetables to serve with our freshly prepared meals. The menu changes daily and we can cater for halal and vegetarian dining as well as other dietary requirements such as gluten-free, diabetic, celeriac etc.
Guests have the option of having dinner and breakfast in the main lodge with our other guests or in their chalets, should they wish to be more private. During summer, both dinner and breakfast are served on the decks of either the main lodge or the chalets, weather permitting.
Wines and Beverages
Tanamera Lodge has a small but well stocked wine cellar with an individually selected wines from a variety of South African wineries from the Cape. This includes most varieties as well as local sparkling wines. We also have a good selection of different spirits, local beers and cold drinks. We also stock local craft beers. If you have any specific requests as far as wines and beverages, please let us know and we will do our best to source your tipple.
Accommodation
- Luxury Chalet with Forest View: The Forest View Luxury Chalet is beautifully decorated and is similar to the honeymoon chalet in size and amenities, with a small lounge and dining area, king sized bed and swathes of mosquito netting. Extras include a double vanity and double walk-in shower with waterfall feature. The sliding doors lead onto a patio with sunken plunge pool and outside shower. Relax looking onto bush and the treetops – perfect for romantic getaways.
- Luxury Chalet with River View: The beautiful River View Luxury Chalets boast a king-size bed draped with a mosquito net and has a large stone bath, waterfall shower and fireplace. The sliding screen and glass doors lead onto a private wooden stilted deck with a plunge pool, from which you can take in the awe-inspiring view. Each chalet is private and surrounded by unspoilt indigenous bush and is perfectly situated for a romantic, relaxing & memorable stay. Indulge in the huge stone baths & waterfall showers, tucked behind a wall and hinged reed half-doors.
- Honeymoon Chalet with River View: There are 2 Honeymoon Chalets which are ideal for honeymooners, extended breaks or for those “special occasions”.Enter through a small lounge and dining room into a master bedroom leading to an en-suite bathroom partially shielded by a wall. The bathroom has a large stone bath, double vanity and double shower with a waterfall feature. Enjoy a romantic sundowner on your large private deck, with a magnificent view overlooking the river, surrounded by indigenous flora and fauna of the Sabie River valley. In the hot summer months take a dip in the cool water plunge pool or refresh yourself in the outside shower. In the Winter months, luxuriate in your king-size bed, or enjoy private dining in your chalet with a log fire heating the room.

Communication and TV
We unfortunately do not have WiFi access due to the nature of the location of Tanamera Lodge. If Wifi is need during your stay with us, please let us know ahead of time so we can try to accommodate your request. We have reception for most South African mobile phone companies and have a landline. There is access to a cellular networks of both MTN and Vodacom, both local service providers, should you wish to access the internet or emails. We do have a TV lounge with satellite connections.
