Eswatini (Swaziland) has a rich tapestry of events that makes it what it is today. Eswatini (Swaziland) is a nation of Kings. During the 15^th and 16^th centuries Africans of the Nguni descent migrated southwards from Central Africa where some of them settled in the area which is known today as Shiselweni in Southern Eswatini (Swaziland).

Today ancient traditions and culture work hand in hand with modern technology.

1. Depart for Eswatini (Swaziland)

You are picked up from your lodge in Hazyview / Malalane or from the Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport. We then head for the spectacular Makhonja mountains. The geo trail near Barberton – a bucket-list contender – takes you on a journey into the midst of an impossibly distant past – more than 3 billion year ago.

We then cross into Eswatini (Swaziland) via the Bulembu border gate, where we enjoy a short drive before stopping for lunch at the Bulembu Country Club, situated at the foot of the Elembe Mountains – the highest in Eswatini (Swaziland).

After lunch we head to the Maguga dam route, where we’ll stop at a traditional homestead and take a guided tour of the village – a real highlight of your visit to Eswatini (Swaziland).

2. Enjoy Cultural Highlights in Eswatini (Swaziland)

Today we leave Hawane at around 08h30 and head to Mantenga Cultural Village where we’ll enjoy a short walk before the show starts. It’s a true living museum of the old traditions, and represents a classic Swazi lifestyle during the 1850s.

After lunch at the village we head towards the King Shobuza museum. Spend some time experiencing the ancient Swazi culture and traditions before heading for Ngwenya Mine, the oldest mine in the world. The ancient Bushmen mined this area for ocre, using in traditional ceremonies and cultural purposes. There is also a nearby visitor’s center.

After our tour, we’ll head to Hawane Lodge, situated nearby.

3. Zip Line in Malalotja

Wake to your third and final day in the Kingdom of Eswatini (Swaziland). We’ll enjoy a stop at the Malalotja Zip Line on the way to the Jeppe’s Reef border post. It takes about 2 hours to complete this activity, and will certainly be a highlight of your trip.

Then enjoy a leisurely drive back to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport or to your lodge in Malalane or Hazyview around 16h00.
